Dr. Bryan Terry brought back “Tuesday’s with Dr. Terry” this past Tuesday, June 16th at Slick Pig Bar-B-Q on East Main. Rep. Terry began having “Tuesday’s with Terry” during the 2014 campaign as an informal way to meet voters and discuss issues.
“I pride myself on talking to constituents and being dedicated to the district. Knocking on doors is one way to get out and talk to constituents, but having informal events in places like the Slick Pig is a pretty effective way to for me to interact with folks and get the pulse of district. Teresa and Jerry Robinson (owners of Slick Pig) are great people and I’m blessed to have the Robinson’s support,” said Dr. Terry.
Throughout the evening, a constant stream of patrons flowed through the establishment. Terry spoke with most and passed out his flyer “Dr. Terry’s Checkup” which is a review of the session and focused on his CODE BLUE 2 legislative agenda. He said that he received appreciation for the information in the flyers. The prevailing topic was the upcoming presidential election.
Rep. Terry said he will continue having informal meet and greats with the public like “Tuesday with Dr. Terry” and “Tea Time with Dr. Terry” at constituent’s homes. “I think it is important that people know their elected officials are open and available. Article 1, Section 1 of the Tennessee Constitution states that all the power is inherent in the people, and I want people to know they have a voice fighting for the district at the Capitol,” said Dr. Terry.
